Bad Day at Office (even the night)

Initially being in the software industry, the disadvantage is that you don't know till the end whether you have to travel or not. So when I came to know on Wednesday night that I might have to travel on Thursday night from Hyderabad to Bangalore, I was not very keen on that. But then after staying away from home for 2 months, you don't mind any chance to go back to home :-) So with all zeal I did all my packing till late night on Wednesday, ensuring that I don't miss anything.

My manager in Hyderabad had already said that 99.99% this will go through and he will confirm by mail on Thursday morning. What happens when I reach office next day happily and all set..... NO MAIL!!! I wait for sometime and give a call again to confirm whether I should go ahead and do the booking. Again I get the same gyan about 99.99% confirm and will get mail in an hour. Anyways I go ahead and do the booking in the train (always better as compared to bus travel)

As I was sitting at office just surfing net to kill time and suddenly I get call from my uncle that I need to transfer some funds, IMMEDIATELY!!! and to my hard luck the Banks website was facing some problem and couldn't do it online. The only option was to visit nearest branch :-( Waiting for the confirmation of travel I decided to put the time to a better use. So took a bike from the friend and went to the bank. (Additional travel in hot sunny afternoon :-(

Luckily by the time I was back from bank, the confirmation mail had come. Now I was all set :-) I wanted sufficient buffer to avoid the evening traffic. But it got stuck is small works. Finally managed to leave the office with a lots of running to be done. And as it wasn't my day, the traffic was at it's worse. The signals which use to be free were having jams..... When I reach railway station, the train leaves right in front of me. I cursed all the traffic and small works at the last moment as much as I can, but no use.

Now the only option was to catch a Volvo (the option I was avoiding as I can't sleep in bus) I managed to reach there more than a hour to spare. Even though the bus leaves late, it reaches before the train. Things were going on track again. I was preparing for reporting at clients place the next day... And because of all the running around, I was tiered and could manage some sleep in the bus.

The best thing happens now. When I get up at 6 next morning expecting to be very near to Bangalore, the driver tells that we are still 300 km away. I was zapped. What has happened in the night??? The driver said that when I was fast asleep, there were 3 accidents on the ways, causing all the jams... I reached Bangalore at 12 and office by 2.

I was planning to be in office on first day before or at least on time and here I was reporting after half day. What a first day at clients place :-)
